If you try to play an old game on a brand new computer, the game may run too fast, making it impossible to concentrate. With SpeederXP, you can slow down your games or make them run faster. It is an excellent solution if you wish to cheat at a game, in which you have to wait for a certain event to occur or if a game's time compression feature does not satisfy your needs. Alternatively, you can use it as an accelerator, if a game runs too slow on your computer.

SpeederXP's setup file is less than one MB and it can be installed in a matter of seconds. It works on Windows 2000 and any later edition, up to Windows 7, but it is not compatible with 64-bit versions. Although the application is not free, there are a few ways to acquire a free activation code.

The software is not limited to games. You can use it to speed up or slow down almost any program on your computer. The best part is that SpeederXP's compact interface makes this procedure as easy as possible. It detects your running programs automatically, so there is no need to browse for any executable files.

All you have to do is select one of your running programs, in a drop menu, and drag a slider to increase or decrease the speed. The application allows you to increase the speed up to 256 X or slow it down to 1/256. You can also click two buttons to increase or decrease the speed by a small margin, if you can't pinpoint a specific speed with the slider. If you want to set the targeted program's speed to normal, you just need to click a large Default button.

Besides setting the application to run automatically when Windows starts or adjusting a frequency conversion, you can also configure a series of hotkeys. While playing a game, you just need to use the corresponding keyboard combinations to increase or decrease the speed, set it to default or to a specific speed.
